DESCRIPTION OF RACE The Southern Oregon Sparrow Clubs USA Run/Walk will
feature a 5K Fun Run/Walk, a timed and certified 10K Run/Walk and the
Bear Creek Kids Run/Walk race (Free) on a paved, mostly flat and
gorgeous bike path that follows Bear Creek. The starting line and finish
will be Event information and entry forms both online and
mail in can be found at
www.smithrockrace.com . The race will start at SPARROW PLEDGE RUN/WALK All Participants are encouraged to help raise funds
for Sparrow Clubs USA by raising pledges through your event of choice.
Pledge forms will be available on the Sparrow Clubs USA website,
www.sparrowclubs.org or at
www.smithrockrace.com . ENTRY FEE $15.00 for the 5K Fun Run and Walk and $20.00 for
the 10K Run/Walk. The Bear Creek Run/Walk Race for Kids is Free but for
safety and insurance purposes all children must be registered. This is
our effort to promote community wellness and fight childhood obesity.
This short Run/Walk is open to all kids Pre-8. There will be a $10.00
late fee for all registrations received after T SHIRTS AVAILABLE FOR “Green” Technical T- shirts made by Green Layer of
Portland Oregon will be available for sale this year. Both Men’s and
Women’s sizes are available for $15.00 each. See our entry form to place
your order. RACE START The start of the 5K and 10K for our Challenged
Athletes will be 7:30 AM followed in sixty seconds by the start of the
competitive 10K Run/Walk and then the 5K Fun Run/Walk. The Bear Creek
Kids Run/Walk will start at REGISTRATION Online go to

Sparrow Clubs USA Run/Walk. You may also register in person at Rogue
Valley Runners located at Mail registration to: Smith Rock Race Group, LLC PACKET PICK-UP Packets can be picked up at Rogue Valley Runners
located at PROCEEDS Race will benefit Sparrow Clubs USA. Sparrow Clubs
USA is proof that you’re never too young to make a difference. As the
nation’s only youth-based charity of its kind, Sparrow Clubs not only
provides financial and emotional support for critically ill children and
their families, but also empowers young people to help a child through
charitable service experiences. Independent contributions can be made either
through our online race registration at www.active.com or included with
your mail in registration form. Your generosity is greatly appreciated! AWARDS AND PRIZES
$25 Gift cards will be awarded to all 1st SPECIAL APPRECIATION • City of MEDICAL ASSISTANCE Course medical assistance provided by the Medford
Fire Department EMS unit. Water stations on the 10K will be at the
approximately 2,4 and 5 mile marks. On the 5K Fun Run/Walk the water
station will be at the approximately 2 mile mark. SPECIAL NOTE: Our race insurance requires no
headphones, baby joggers or pets in covered races. Also, to maintain
runner safety, all bicycles and autos of event spectators must remain
off the race course.
