Arriving in the dark, before first light at Smith Rock State Park in Terrebonne Oregon for the 6th annual Smith Rock Sunrise Summer Classic, you will be greeted first by the cool high desert air and smell of fresh morning dew on the local alfalfa fields.

Then as the first rays of sunlight strike the face of Morning Glory as it starts in its daily bask...then BANG! You are off on a chip timed 13.1 mile USATF certified course starting within the state park, cruise the rural roads of the local area; come back under the gaze of ascending rock climbers!

The Smith Rock Half Marathon is a sanctioned training run for the Portland Marathon. If you wish to get on with your beautiful Central Oregon day a bit sooner, you can take advantage of our timed 10k or 5k run or walk. Children ages pre-school to 5th grade are encouraged to participate in our FREE 1 mile Central Oregon Pumpkin Patch sponsored Rock Race for Kids. Get your beautiful summer day started off on the right foot with us at Smith Rock State Park! See you Saturday July 6th!

Smith Rock Muddy Pig Run, Li'l Piggy Mud Run & Family Festival August 10th, 2013

Smith Rock Muddy Pig Run and Li'l Piggy Mud Run July 8th at the DD Ranch, Terrebonne, OR

Featuring farm & military-style obstacles with mud pits, ponds, a wetland, hay bales, rough ranch trail, and much, much more!  Individuals - Adult & Youth and/or 2, 3 or 4-person teams will compete in a challenging and fun muddy race to the end. Children 2-12 are challenged with a mini course in the Li'l Piggy Mud Run.

Now are you wondering if there is some entertainment for the adults? Yep! Romp'n stomp'n music to get you pumped for the race, a beer garden (must be 21 & over) and have ID showing proof of age.  Hay rides for the whole family too!  Feed grass to the bovines as they meander over to the wagon.
